Kids Profile Management

 What is the Kids Profile?

Every MBC Shahid account can have up to five profiles, and one of them must always be a Kids Profile to ensure a secure and child-friendly entertainment space. This profile cannot be removed to maintain a safe viewing environment for kids.

When you create an account on MBC Shahid, you will automatically have two profiles: one Adult Profile and one Kids Profile.

Benefits of a kids profile:

A Kids Profile provides a dedicated viewing experience with content selected for younger viewers. Parents and guardians can select an age range to help control which Kids content is available within the profile.

• Child content – A selection of shows and movies tailored for kids.
• Parental PIN code – Provides control to ensure children access only suitable content.
• Fun and easy interface – Designed for kids to navigate effortlessly.
• Age customization – Allows parents to set their child’s age range, ensuring content is appropriate for their age

Available age ranges:

• 1-4 years
• 5-8 years
• 9-12 years

When creating a Kids Profile, the default selected range is 9-12 years. You can change this based on your child’s needs.

How age filtering works: The selected age range is used to filter content within the Kids catalogue. For example, if 5-8 years is selected, the profile can show eligible Kids content suitable for age 8 and below.

Turning age filtering off: If age filtering is disabled, all content within the Kids catalogue may be available regardless of the selected age range.

Existing Kids Profiles: If you already have a Kids Profile, the age previously saved on the profile will automatically be converted into the applicable age range. You only need to update the profile if you want to select a different range.

Updating the range later: Age ranges do not change automatically as your child grows. You can review and update the selected age range through the Kids Profile settings whenever needed.

Using the profile across devices: Age-range changes are saved to the Kids Profile and apply across supported devices. During the rollout of the new feature, the age-range management option may appear on one platform before another but saved profile settings will continue to apply across platforms.

A title is appearing or missing unexpectedly: The content available in a Kids Profile depends on the selected age range and the classification assigned to each Kids title. If you believe a title is appearing or missing incorrectly, contact MBC Shahid Customer Support for assistance.

Report on Child Safety concern: If you believe content on MBC Shahid may be harmful or inappropriate for children, you can report it through kidssafety@shahid.net or use the MBC Shahid Child Safety page.

How can I reset or remove my parental PIN code?

You can trust that your little ones will always be #SafeOnMBCShahid.  
 

The parental PIN code is there to ensure the safety of the content your kids are watching and that suits their age hence it cannot be removed but can be reset.  

The parental PIN code feature can be easily set and reset by following the steps below:  

Via Browser: Follow this link to retrieve the pin code: https://shahid.mbc.net/en/widgets/parental-control.
 

Or   
 

Via MBC Shahid Mobile App on Android or IOS: 
 

Go to Parental Control under my account settings and use the code displayed on the screen to reset the pin code or exit the kid’s profile.  
 

If you forgot your registered 4-digit pin code, you could simply retrieve it by following the steps below:
 

1. Exit Kids Profile  

2. Tap on Forgot PIN code?  

3. Enter your password.  

4. Your current parental code will be displayed.
